Just a short blurb to catch you up...
Well nothing much new with me. I've got a bit of a second job with making sweets. I love cupcakes!!
Also, been thinking of a new business idea of taking old furniture and giving it new life.
Writing has taken a back seat. I haven't pushed myself to write in a while mainly because I put my RWA and CRW groups on hiatus this year. But I miss it a lot!
Work, the five-thirty to two job, is going well. Starting to work some from home; which has been a dream of mine for a long time.
Journey to Me
The journey to the me I'm meant to be. Otherwise known as 40 year old virgin, never been kissed, single white female...oh wait those are all movie titles. Anyway, just a girl in pursuit of finding the meaning of life. OK not really THE meaning of life; just what today brings, what I expect of tomorrow, and what the hell am I going to do for the rest of my life?! Daily (or yearly) musings from a girl living life as it comes to her.

Happiness
I have a quote posted on my monitor; "Light tomorrow with today" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. This is one of those things I do to remind myself to be positive and to be happy everyday. (Sometimes easier to be said than done, but it is all about trying or is that perspective?!)
I currently have lots to be happy about, most importantly at work I got to move back upstairs! OK so I know this is not a big deal to most people but this is a big one for me. I need to see the outdoors. When I worked downstairs I was in the basement at the very back and there is absolutely no natural light in that place. Not my happy place. Now I'm back upstairs and I'm much happier.
I have finally gotten my kitchen renovation underway and other than living with the mess I am so looking forward to it being done. This has been a long time coming. Pictures to follow.

Chris' 40th birthday!

We're celebrating my brother's 40th birthday, which only means I'm that much closer to 40 myself! Well we went to the beach house for the weekend and enjoyed some sun and family togetherness. This is the first time my mom and grandmother got to see the beach house, I was able to come down about 7 or 8 years ago. My brother's wife, Amy and her mother own it and Amy's great grand father built it. Originally it was built on the street with a row of houses in front of it plus a dirt road in front of those houses then the ocean. Currently it is ocean front. Guess you never know! It has been really nice to spend time with my sister-in-law and her family, especially my niece Elizabeth. She's super cute and that's not just my biased opinion (see picture)!

Music
I have been listening to some really great music recently. Laura Izibor and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals to name a few. I'm always excited about finding really awesome music. Let me know if you've got some current favorites.

Happy 4th!
So much of nothing going on I can't even summons the need to blog.
Facts:Too hot in North Carolina this summer and that makes me miserable. Thank God for air conditioning, this relieves some of the misery. Taking a break from writing. Clearing my head.

New Year, New Laziness
Looks like I have sunk to a new level of laziness with the blog. I keep telling myself to do better but then I start another home-improvement idea and cease to contemplate the blogosphere!
Well today is a new day (not that I know what tomorrow will bring)!
Watched a new series on PBS called Faces of America that really intrigued me. So if you get a chance check it out. It is all about Genealogy and puts a question to the participants about thinking about how their ancestors shaped their lives? For which I find fascinating because of my own ancestry.

December 2009
So the year 2009 is coming to an end and along with it an end to a decade. I wonder what December of 1909 was like... Did someone journal about their thoughts on the end of that year as well as the end of that decade?
I am going to think about that for the next two days and see how 2009 stacks up.

Baby Matthew has arrived!
Matthew Lee was born today, November 23, 2009 at 5:30 weighing in at 8 lbs 1 oz.
Can't wait to see him. And how nice of him to arrive in time for Thanksgiving.

Wow how time flies...
With all good intentions I had planned on being better at posting but then life happens. I have been more frequently posting to Facebook, took a break from MySpace and pretty much stopped visiting Twitter. Oh, well.
So since July...
Nothing much has happened. Still working the job (although it has gotten more involved I'm still liking it) and still just being me!
My niece is getting so big, Layton's two and talking up a storm and I can't wait to meet my cousin's baby (Matthew) who's due in November. There's a lot of baby news. My friend Ashley had her baby, Gabriella in September, Stephanie is due in December (Sydney) and Heather is due in January (Sean). Whew...I'm so excited!
I've been writing but it has been a trail. Thanks to Heather that is a thing of the past. This month we're going to keep track of each other and motivate. We call our two person group, Kick Arse, because we need the other to kick our arse into gear so that we have a finished product at the end of the year. Here we come PRO!
Planning a vacation in November, possibly a cruise. I've never been on one so I'm not sure I'll like it or if I'm afraid I'll like it too much but I like to do things I haven't done before.
That's all for now maybe I will get better about posting if my life gets interesting I will definitely post about it!
