The journey to the me I'm meant to be. Otherwise known as 40 year old virgin, never been kissed, single white female...oh wait those are all movie titles. Anyway, just a girl in pursuit of finding the meaning of life. OK not really THE meaning of life; just what today brings, what I expect of tomorrow, and what the hell am I going to do for the rest of my life?! Daily (or yearly) musings from a girl living life as it comes to her.

Almost another day
Today I have been very productive. I have cleaned three rooms, organized my office & computer, made lunch, snack and dessert--believe me that is a good day! And here it is almost midnight. I should be sleeping, but I'm hyped up about my characters. It feels like I have finally gotten a handle on them and am ready to write. Not that I haven't already written 114 pages on this story-please God don't let that be wasted-and just now figured I got a handle on it!? Yeesh! Talk about taking the long way around. Anyway just thought I'd share my bit of good news. And believe me it is good news. Now back to writing before going to sleep.

Just another one of 'those' days...
If it can go wrong, it has. Today has been one of those days you wish you could have stayed in bed. But here I am at work, just trying to make it through. Now lets add; time to renew drivers license, dinner plans and needing to get something by the post office. urgh!
I can't wait until I'm in the bed tonight and hopefully everything is done!

Chimney Rock
I found a house. It needs a bit of TLC but as you may remember I'm up to it. I'm glad I don't remember how bad it was in the thick of things while doing the remodeling but this won't be as bad. The bare bones are good just needs cosmetic sprucing. Will let you know more as the matter either comes to fruition or not. Wish me luck!

The day after
I was lucky enough to be invited (told to go) to a conference hosted by my company yesterday. The site is two hours away from my company and I was to come into work and do the first part of my job (the hard part that no one else wants to do) then come down after I finished (be there for lunch). I start with getting my key fob (security for entrance into the building) set for 5 AM verses the normal 6 AM (the fob lets you in 15 minutes before you start time). I arrive at 5:08 and the fob does NOT work. I keeping checking every 15 minutes until 5:45 (my regular time) when I am finally able to get in. **Bad start for the day ahead** Well, I have a light day (THANK YOU GOD) and so I finish up this at 9:30. Off I go to the conference. I arrive at 20 til 12, lunch is at 12:15 (horrible food at that) and then proceed to sit through 3 hours and 30 minutes of speakers (this is my company hosting, so the information is nothing to the actual work I do--so boring). Then we have a free hour to freshen up for the dinner and keynote speaker, (Steve Gilliland-totally awesome speaker) and delicious dinner (Pine Needles Hotel). Now, I said no one wants to do my job so I'm expected to be at work the next morning to do my job as normal. When the speaker finishes at 9:47 PM I get in my car to enjoy the next two hours in my car heading home (super nasty lightening and rain storm--low to no visibility) and make it home at midnight. Today is a blur and I only hope that I can catch up on my sleep tonight. Forget that I have a program I'm participating in called First Draft in 30 Days of which today is Day 5 and as yesterday was a bust I'm a day behind!!!

Sunday Overtime
I know in the world we're living in today I shouldn't, but I can't help myself: I'm sick of working overtime. Medical billing is definitely not included in the recession. Urgh!
My office is a mess and I'm trying to get ready for a workshop with my local romance writers group, Carolina Romance Writers in June. Our fearless leader, Virginia Farmer is trying to get every member up to Pro status by the end of the year. Meaning having a completed manuscript that has been sent out to an agent or publishing house. My current work has been on the back burner in preparation. Not that I'm not fleshing out bits in my head at the oddest times, including at work today. I just really need an extra day (or six) to get the condemned area back up to par for my brain to function instead of bogging down in procrastination.

For Mary (My Life in Scotland)
Thanks Mary for giving my a thorough tongue lashing about my incompetence of not posting. --Over exaggerating the facts, but hey it got me to post.
I've been busy writing again. The new position at work has finally settled into normal and I've been jazzed about my new story. I'm writing a Young Adult Paranormal with a Celtic Mythology theme, my heroine's name is Emma Sara Reid, or as she likes to be called 'Em'. Two weeks from turning sixteen Em finds out she has god-like abilities, including shape-shifting into a raven, after meeting a super hot, Scottish guy, Archer, that her Uncle Cormac just informed her parents would be staying with the family for the next year. Something like an exchange student. Needless to say her Junior year is going to be very interesting!
I try to keep up with Tweeting in between working at the 9-5 job (which is really 6-2:30). Check me out at:UserName: JustAboutWrite
Well, back to work. Lunch has ended with me just blabbing away. Thanks again Mary, I will try to do better.
